Ice Sirens

Our most recent photoshoot was a real morale builder for our team. We have added a number of new team members recently and this was a great opportunity to get together and do something that is both creative and fun!

The concept of the shoot was based on the development Rage since the fire, which destroyed the salon in December 2009. The idea was about renewal, growth and phoenix rising from the ashes.

The concept of spring and renewal made us think about the White Dreams photoshoot with Lilly Cole

We loved the soft, gentle, free flowing look of the shoot with Lilly's bright red hair and cool metallic skin. We hoped to achieve something similar in our photoshoot, with a very editorial feel. Shortly before we booked the photoshoot we saw Lilly in an episode of Dr Who as a siren, we loved this look too and felt it was very ethereal and ghostly.

We joined forces with the renowned stylist Joey Bevan, who has worked with Italian Vogue, Britiain's Next Top Model and The Saturdays. He suggested using 'Ice Jewellery' - actually freezing blocks of ice with glitter and sequins in it around silver jewellery . The ice would then melt on the models skin (not the most comfortable photoshoot for the poor models) leaving sequins on their skin.

The ice would represent a thaw, Spring and new life. We worked with photographer Simon Ackerman in a London studio with professional London models and the final results are everything we could have hoped.

The hair look is much softer and more gentle than our recent shoots, but with a glamorous, glossy look.
